This is in response to people who have inquired why Autotote cancelled the December On the Wire tournament and why two people were named winners of the July event.

Mr. Russell Harris was the contest winner of the July On the Wire contest, but was erroneously disqualified because he made a show wager, which was prohibited in the rules. His show wager had no impact on his finish. This show wager should have been deleted from his total, and if it had been, he still would have won the contest. What inadvertently occurred was that Mr. Harris was disqualified completely from winning the event and Mr. Bert Fooden, who finished second, was placed first.

After reviewing the results, it was decided that Mr. Harris should not have been disqualified and that only his show bet should have been disqualified. Mr. Fooden had already been informed that he was the winner. As a result, it was decided to name both players the winners of the contest. Both players received the first place prize money and qualified for the NTRA tournament. Autotote cancelled the December On the Wire contest, because the allotment of six spots has been filled.

Autotote makes every effort to ensure the integrity of all its contests and nothing has or will influence the proper manner in which these events are conducted.
